CHURCH RENTAL

Ebenezer Baptist Church welcomes our members and non-members the opportunity to rent our facilities for your next event.  Please read the information under "Fees", "General Rules for Use" and "Release and Indemnity" sections prior to filling in the specific request form.  We thank you for your interest in using Ebenezer Baptist and look forward to being of service to you.

  • There is a fee to use Ebenezer Baptist Church (EBC) for events other than funerals 1 for members and auxiliary functions. The rate is $200.00 for active church members to use the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall and $500.00 for non-members to use the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall.

    These fees do not include honorariums to person such as minister, musicians, soloist, etc.  You will need to make personal arrangements as to the amount you will pay for those services.  A non-refundable fee of $50.00 for active Church members and $100.00 for non-members is due at the time reservations are made.   • BREAKAGE

    All persons and/or groups using Church facilities are expected to exercise reasonable care and judgment in such use in order to prevent defacement, damage, or breakage. The persons signing the Application for use shall be responsible for paying costs incurred by the Church in cleaning, repairing, or replacing any part of the building or, its furnishings and equipment which in the judgment of the EBC Executive Board/ Board of Trustees has been carelessly or irresponsibly subjected to more than normal wear and tear by the persons or group involved.

     

    KITCHEN USE

    The Kitchen may be used as a warm-up Kitchen ONLY. Caterers/food staff must bring in their own equipment/supplies and staff or serving, washing and cleaning up at the event. The Church Kitchen may not be used for food preparation, only as a place from which to serve during the event. The Church Kitchen supplies (dinnerware, utensils, food, paper products etc.) may not be used.

     

    ORGAN AND PIANO USE

    Permission to use the church instruments must be granted by the Minister of Music. If the user wishes to have instruments tuned, a craftsman approved by the Minister of Music or Church Sexton will tune them at the user’s expense.  

     

    ALCOHOL POLICY

    The serving, consumption, or use of alcoholic beverages, marijuana, or other controlled substances shall not be permitted at any time on church property, including the outdoor areas and parking lots.

     

    FOOD AND DRINK

    No food or drink is allowed in the Sanctuary except for water. 

     

    DECORATIONS

    You are required to provide your own plants and decorations for the event. The placement of decorations must not deface the church furnishings. No decorations shall be attached to chairs, walls or other furniture with pins, staples, glue or nails or any type. Plastic must be placed under candelabras to protect carpet and flooring. You are responsible for removal of all decorations following the event and/or reception.  Church custodians are responsible for moving church furniture for the event and must be informed at least two weeks in advance of the event.

  • This Release and Indemnity Agreement is between the signer organization and/or Individual ("Organization and/or individual") and Ebenezer Baptist Church ("Church").

    The Church is the owner of the real property located at 1901 North Harding Street, Indianapolis, Indiana ("Property"). The below named organization/individual desires to use the property described above for meetings and/or other activities.

     

    AGREEMENT

    NOW THEREFORE in consideration of this Church permitting the above names Organization and/or individual to use the Property and improvements described above, the Organization and/or individual agrees as follows:

    1. The Organization and/or individual hereby releases, discharges , and covenants not to sue the church or its Board/Trustees, administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, and employees, from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, or damages arising out of the Organization and/or individual's use of the Property. If any member, guest, invitee, or participant of the Organization and/or individual makes any claim against the church or its Board/Trustees, administrators, directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, or employees, in connection with the Organization and/or individual's use of the Property, the Organization and/or individual will indemnify, defend and hold the church and its administrators , directors, agents, officers, members, volunteers, or employees harmless from any and all litigation expenses, attorney fees, losses, liability, damages, and  costs arising out of such claim.

     

    ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY

    I agree to be responsible for the conduct of those coming to, or participating in, the activity for which this application is being made, and for any damage beyond normal wear and tear that may occur as a result of this activity. I will remove all signs and decorations posted by my group immediately after the meeting/event has ended . I further agree that the church property will be used in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Executive Board/Board of Trustees, and Ihereby consent to the Release and Indemnity Agreement.

  • Premarital Counseling

    We want your marriage to succeed. We know that the premarital counseling significantly improves your potential for success and strongly advise that a meeting with the pastor is scheduled.

     

    The Music

    The church does not provide musicians for the services.  It is your responsibility to secure the musicians of your choice. It is necessary that they attend rehearsal if they would like access to the church before the wedding.

     

    The Reception

    Church receptions may be held in the Fellowship Hall. This is a special time for congratulations to be given to the bride, groom, and respective families.  If the bride uses a caterer, or if she chooses a family member or friends to help with the reception they must:

    • Bring his/her own equipment and staff for serving, washing and cleaning up at the reception.
    • The church kitchen may not be used for food preparation, but simply as a place from which to serve during the reception.
    • The church kitchen supplies (such as coffee, sugar, etc.) serving utensils or paper goods may not be use

     

    Please make sure your florist is aware of the stipulations:

    • Florists are expected to provide their own plants and decorations for the wedding and reception.
    • The placing of decorations must not deface the church furniture.
    • Under no condition shall decorations be attached to chairs, walls or o her furniture with pins, staples, glue, or nails of any sort.
    • Plastic must be placed under candelabras to protect carpeting.
    • Florists are responsible for removal of all decorations following the wedding ceremony and /or reception.
    • Church custodians are responsible for moving church furniture for the wedding ceremony, but must be informed at least two weeks in advance.

     

    Conduct of Wedding Party and Guests

    • No smoking is permitted anywhere on church property. This includes those who do decorating and catering.
    • No Alcohol of any kind is permitted on the church property.
    • If rice is used, it must be outside of the building and distributed near the exit only at time of departure.  Birdseed is recommended, but it too must be used outside.
